Department of Animal Services Cuts Adoption Fee to $25 to Promote Adoption of Homeless Adult Cats
The County Department of Animal Services’ three shelters are overflowing with adult cats in all shapes, sizes and personalities… sweet, grumpy, sleepy, plump, skinny, short, tall, orange, black, white, tabby, tiger, tortie, long hair, short hair and in-between… the selection is endless. And older cats are generally considered less destructive, easier to train and care for, more affectionate, more comfortable when left alone, and are an ideal choice for a single pet household.
As an incentive to adopt these wonderful pets, the Department has reduced the adoption fee from $58 to $25 for any cat age one year or older. The adoption fee includes altering, vaccinations, microchipping, and leukemia testing before pets can go home with new families. This special adoption fee will only last through the end of July.
Information about the cats available for adoption and the adoption application are available on the Animal Services Web site at http://www.sddac.com/adoptions.asp.
The County shelters are located in Mission Valley, Carlsbad, and Bonita. Visit the Animal Services Web site at www.sddac.com for hours of operation and locations.
